This April follow in the footsteps of Cornish miners
We are multi-award winning family-friendly heritage attraction, learning centre and a hands-on mining museum. Geevor Tin Mine, on the rugged cliffs of the Tin Coast of West Cornwall, is a stunning place to discover the story of Cornish metal mining, one of Cornwall's great industries, at this incredible World Heritage Site.
Do something different! Put your hard hat on and go exploring at Geevor.
Astonishing history in an amazing landscape
Geevor is a real Cornish tin mine little changed from when the mine closed in 1990 with a real underground experience. Metal mining was one of Cornwall's great industries. Explore the mine and get hands-on in the hard rock museum. Talk to our tour guides about their time working as miners at Geevor. For children and families there are activities to enjoy including panning for gems (keep what you find!) and our quiz FREE with your entry ticket. We know it's a bit further to drive so car parking is FREE for all of our visitors.

The Story of Geevor
The exact date when mining began in the area eventually operated by Geevor is unknown - but in the old workings in the Wheal Carne section there is a date of 1791 cut into the wall of the adit (drainage) level.
